  • Chicago Area Nigerian Network (C.A.N.N.)
    Description
Chicago Area Nigerian Network (C.A.N.N.) is an organization whose purpose is to promote the unity, progression, and efficient functionality of the greater Chicago Area Nigerian (and West Africa as a whole) community. We need to support our businesses and service professionals. We need to be able to both, share ideas but also listen to and respect other people's ideas in humility because we can always learn from anyone. We need to see each other as brothers and sisters, equals, not in competition, but in cooperation. Let's us use our great opportunity of being in the United States, not to selfishly enhance our own standard of living and wealth symbols, but to invest in our people and our community. Our success was not completely in our control, we all know those who have fallen victim to unfortunate events that could have easily overtaken us as well (car accident, crimes, sickness, etc.). So, let us remain cognizant of the fact that it is only right to find a way to share our blessings for the progress of our community as a whole. Let's us cooperate to promote exponential development and progression for our people through the establishment of businesses and networks for growth. Let's us continue to promote education strongly, but also promote support for brothers and sisters to also, "Learn how to fish" as opposed to just "Feeding them fishes." (Provide investments into legitimate and well researched businesses and infrastructure for our people). Let's commit to destroy corruption through the disgrace and exile of any proven offenders. Let us establish democratic checks and balances to give as many people as possible a voice in the outcome. Let us commit to the relatively frequent rotation of decision making, power, and delegation and general supreme court style majority rules determination of disputes. Let our mantra be that "we do not know, what we never learned and there is always more to learn, so let us all continuously learn from each other and share information in a concise and effective manner which has third-party research/validation. Not just our own view." Let us align our purpose and goals in the indisputable victory that we have in our Lord Jesus Christ the savior. Let us not overlook the curses upon nations and regions committed to evil practices and self-seeking devotion to short-term pleasures and meaningless pursuits, but model ourselves after the principles of the most successful. Let truth be supreme, not as me or anyone else portrays it, but as it is based on the verifiable facts from unbiased sources and the support of logical connection throughout the whole account. Let us humble ourselves before the Lord and we will prosper!
