Arrest Buhari now, youths tell Jonathan

A political pressure group based in Bauchi, under the platform of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) National Youths Coalition, has called for the immediate arrest of the presidential candidate of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), Major-General Muhamma-du Buhari (retd), saying that this is the way to restore peace and normalcy in the country.

The national coordinator of the group, Babangida Sule Manchok (Jnr), made the statement in an interview with newsmen in Bauchi, after a meeting of the coalition, adding that apart from lacking in merit, Buhari constituted a threat to the cohesion of Nigerians, with his desperation to rule the country.

According to him, Buhari’s action after the election showed frustration and internal disruption, with a determination to remain relevant in the politics of the country.

The coordinator said the political outburst of Buhari was a reflection of guilt for acts of thuggery he introduced into Nigerian politics, through the use of hirelings and his traits of brigandage.

“It is pathetic when Buhari always run to the media to twist facts and distort history to his advantage, in order to confuse the people to conceal the nefarious acts he and his adventures are inflicting on the hitherto political landscape of the country, prior to the recent killings, where CPC mercenaries caused unlawful disorders.

Manchok (Jnr) said Buhari was frustrated, especially as he knew the futility of his ambition, knowing that he was finished politically, therefore putting up a last effort to save his sagging image.

“The most surprising perfidy in Muhammadu Buhari’s escapades is the assumption that he can unleash mayhem on the people, as occurred on Lafia, Nasarawa State, where he allegedly led a band of hired thugs during the so-called campaign rally, having supervised the slaughter of several souls apart from burning of properties as well as perpetrating acts of arson in northern states,” he said.

The group then called on the Federal Government not to relent in its efforts to arrest the culprits now, to serve as deterrent to others, with a view to saving the nascent democracy from military incursion.
